Notes & Reviews:

This outstanding new release contains compositions by the late John McCabe, featuring world premiere recordings of The Irish Song Book and Requiem Sequence. The Northern Chamber Orchestra and the William Byrd Singers perform the works on this album, as well as the John McCabe himself performing the Theme and Four Studies by Alan Raswthiorne. This project was made possible through assistance provided by Monica McCabe, the wife of John McCabe, also an accomplished pianist. "His devotion to exploring unjustly neglected music led him to perform the works of many different composers." (Monica McCabe)
