Notes & Reviews:

Thanks to the new colonies in America, the Emperor Charles V ruled over an empire where the sun never set and so, consequently, music was heard around the clock. The focus of the recording is on the ceremonial wind music, which was played at religious and secular occasions in Spain. Capella de la Torre ensures the correspondingly colored version of the music from the Golden Age of Spain.

Notes & Reviews:

Recording information: Church of St. Osdag, Mandelsloh, Germany (10/09/2006-10/13/2006).
