Notes & Reviews:

With the exception of the Quintet for Piano & Winds Op.16, Beethoven's Chamber Music for Winds unfortunately is still not well-known. Performed by excellent instrumentalists - as here by the musicians of Il Gardellino - it unfolds its whole charm. The excellent Belgians also recorded the Octet op. 103 of 1793 and the Rondino WoO 25. In the Quintet op. 16., the Dutch fortepiano specialist Arthur Schoondewoerd guarantees an unheard Beethoven experience.
