Album Remarks & Appraisals:
The ensemble Simdi, founded by singer and composer Bora Uymaz and the harpist Sirin Pancaroglu, is the successor of the Anatolian tradition of Sufi music and is one of their most prestigious representatives in Turkey. The ensemble plays both the traditional repertoire as well as new compositions of its members. The cast varies between two and seven musicians. For the first recording on the label DREYER GAIDO the musicians are accompanied by the French tuba and serpent player Michel Godard.
