Notes & Reviews:

Violinist Nicolas Dautricourt and pianist Dana Ciocarlie present the world première recordings of Benjamin Godard's Violin Sonatas. A prolific composer as well as a talented violinist and pianist, Godard's works are written in the tradition of Beethoven. They combine the qualities of inspiration, intensity of emotion and the easy virtuosity that defined romanticism. These works allow us to see different faces of Godard - from the first sonata, crafted in the ardor of his youth, to the fourth, regarded as a masterpiece of the form.
