Notes & Reviews:

In a characteristically imaginative move, the Quatour Ebene complements Schubert's sublime Quintet for two violins, viola and two cellos (Gautier Capucon joins the ensemble) with a group of his songs - sensitively arranged by the quartet's cellist, Rapphael Merlin, and sung by German baritone Matthias Goerne, one of the world's great interpreters of lieder.

Gramophone Magazine, May 2016
For a start, the EbFne Quartet quite clearly think deeply about every note, every texture, every gesture - as they have demonstrated in the past...The lower instruments are the engine room of the Quintet, and this performance demonstrates that as finely as any...The detailing, too, is remarkable.

BBC Music Magazine, June 2016
The Quatuor EbFne, who together with the remarkable cellist Gautier Caputon perform the C major String Quintet, stands out, even in a golden age of string quartets... and since Caputon integrates himself with them with none of the strain that star cellists often show, the result is as impressive as one might hope.
