Notes & Reviews:

Yehudi Menuhin was born in New York, but spent much of his life in Europe and died in 1999 in Berlin, where he was due to conduct a concert. It was in Berlin 70 years earlier, in 1929 that Albert Einstein - himself an accomplished violinist - heard the young Menuhin play and exclaimed: "Now I know there is a God in heaven!" Menuhin is acknowledged as one of the greatest violinists of the 20th century, an interpreter of phenomenal understanding and spirituality. He commanded a huge and varied repertoire , including numerous works dedicated to him by contemporary composers.
