In celebration of their 20th anniversary, Quatuor Diotima releases this new album, which is the first in a series of contemporary composer portraits. This release is the first in the collection, and is dedicated to compositions by Czech composer Miroslav Srnka. Miroslav Srnka (b. 1975) studied composition and musicology in Paris, Berlin, and Prague, and has worked as a music magazine editor and editor in chief of a music publishing house. Srnka began his relationship with the Quatuor Diotima during their recording of Janacek's 2nd String Quartet. The ensemble premiered his piece Engrams in 2011.
