Album Remarks & Appraisals:
In their decade of existence, multi-national piano trio Phronesis has received numerous critical accolades, including Jazzwise's album of the year, two MOBO nominations, The London Awards for Art and Performance's Jazz Award and the Copenhagen Jazz Festival's Young Spirit Award. On their sixth album, recorded at Abbey Road, the trio sound more energized and more focused than ever before. Parallax is defined as the difference in the apparent position of an object viewed along two different lines of sight. It is an apt analogy for this trio who constantly shift emphasis and swap viewpoints, generating huge excitement, both live and on record.
