This album features the great guitarist Jimmy Raney in a trio with bassist Sam Jones and drummer Leroy Williams, all regulars for the Xanadu label in the 1970s. The boppish performances (which Raney considers among his very best) are subtle with lots of interplay between the players. High points include "Anthropology," "A Burning Cherokee," and Raney's unaccompanied playing on "Stella by Starlight." ~ Scott Yanow
