Notes & Reviews:

Chris Hecht was born in Vienna, Austria, but grew up in Mill Valley, California. As a child, he was chorister in the Boys Choir Church of Our Savior Episcopal, Mill Valley. He then studied trombone and in high school played his instrument in several rock and R and B groups. He graduated from the University of California, Davis and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. After his studies, he sang bass in several Bay Area choruses. Throughout his adult life, he has been actively composing music for various ensembles, while focusing increasingly on works for voice and vocal ensemble. "Words, together with music can be doubly expressive", he says enthusiastically.
