Performers Conductor Ensemble Composer

Notes & Reviews:

This impressive four-disc set is filled with vocal works from master Flemish composer, Jakobus Vaet (1529-1567). While little is known about Vaet's life before his position as Kapellmeister of the Hapsburg emperor Maximilian II in Vienna, we do know that his compositions were held in high regard. This collection includes a sampling of his impressive catalog, including Masses, Motets, a Magnificat, and a Requiem all performed by the Dufay Ensemble, known for their sensitive interpretation of historical works.
