Album Remarks & Appraisals:

Sid and Marty Krofft realized a long-standing dream with the establishment of the Krofft Theatre on an evening in October, 1961 and their presentation of the first edition of Les Poupées de Paris, which earned them such accolades from the press as: "A smash hit!" - Time Magazine, "This is extravaganza at its splendorous best. There has been nothing like it since Flo Ziegfeld was producing his follies" - Jack Gaver, UPI The Kroffts and their puppets were opening acts for entertainers like Judy Garland and Sammy Davis Jr., so they were able to get many celebrities to record voices for their puppets. Some of those include Pearl Bailey, Gene Kelly, Liberace, Loretta Young and Mae West. The show grew to such fame that it became a key attraction at Seattle World's Fair in 1962, the New York World's Fair in 1964-65 and San Antonio's Hemis Fair in 1968.
