Notes & Reviews:

One of the things that distinguished Brahms from his nineteenth-century composing contemporaries was his intense interest in the strict contrapuntal art of Bach and the pre-Bach composers, notably Heinrich Schutz and Gabrieli. This interest, and subsequent influence, is most notable in his unaccompanied choral works. The Danish National Radio Choir distinguishes itself in these lovely performances.
