Notes & Reviews:

Ottorino Respighi was fascinated by the musical heritage of his native Italy. The two works presented here are representative of how Respighi would siphon new wine into old bottles. The 'Concerto in modo misolidio' is a modern exploration of ancient church modes and the 'Concerto a cinque' is a lean neo-baroque homage to the chamber concertos of Antonio Vivaldi.
