Q (Magazine) (p.109) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "Noah And The Whale are light and summery, yet innovative and widescreen."
The debut by British indie outfit Noah and the Whale blends Jonathan Richman-like wide-eyed, childlike whimsy with the surging indie rock charge of acts like the Hold Steady and the Arcade Fire. The combination seems like it shouldn't work nearly as well as it does on their debut album PEACEFUL, THE WORLD LAYS ME DOWN. Tracks like "Two Atoms In A Molecule" and "Five Years Time" are simultaneously sweetly charming and compellingly assertive.
