Entre Orient and Occident, Works by Janacek, Chausson, Debussy, Bartok, Komitas, Hersant, Kamangar, Hossein / Virgil Boutellis-Taft, violin; Guillaume Vincent, piano

Notes & Reviews:

Violinist Virgil Boutellis-Taft takes us on a journey from 1896 to 1996. Beginning with the Počme by Ernest Chausson, he traverses a selection of works by Janácek, Debussy, Bartók, Komitas, Kamangar, Hossein and concludes with Songs of the South by Philippe Hersant. The historical borders of Europe and its identity are both questioned and expanded in this back and forth between East and West.
