Notes & Reviews:

This release is the final volume in CPO's complete edition of Max Bruch's works for violin and orchestra with the astounding violinist Antje Weithaas. The result of Bruch's friendships with Joseph Joachim and Pablo de Sarasate are the three works on this album. The Fantasy, a Konzertstck, and various other pieces not only constitute what is by far the largest work group within his symphonic oeuvre but also without exception occupy the absolute heights in the concert literature of the nineteenth century.
