Notes & Reviews:

This disc forms part of the complete Rachmaninov symphony Cycle on Naxos. Although the symphonies have only recently come to assume prominence compared with the Piano Concertos, the 1st Symphony reveals itself as an early masterpiece in Rachmaninov's output. It is coupled here with the charming 'Caprice Bohemien.'
