Notes & Reviews:

Rheinberger counted among his pupils Humperdink, Wolf-Ferrari and Furtwangler. He is chiefly remembered today for his organ compositions. His twenty Organ Sonatas are varied, impressive and technically accomplished, which testify to the continuing tradition of fugal writing that stems from Bach.
