Notes & Reviews:

This disc is particularly interesting in that it features the very rarely recorded Violin Concerto No. 3 by Max Bruch. This concerto is certainly the equal to either of the composer's earlier two, more popular works, in the same genre in terms of its craftsmanship and melodic invention. The Symphony No. 1 was one of the most popular symphonies of its time, and shows the influence of Schubert and Mendelssohn. Not to be missed by anyone who likes to explore out-of-the-way Romanticism.
