Notes & Reviews:

This two disc set presents some of Sibelius' best known music alongside some of his lesser known works. When Sibelius was born in 1865, Tchaikovsky was a 'contemporary' composer, and Berlioz was still alive. By the time of his death two world wars later, the revolution of the avant-garde was complete, and his contemporaries included Boulez, Bernstein and Berio!
