Notes & Reviews:

While New Orleans is universally renown for being the birth place of Jazz, it was also home to one of the most important and most sadly neglected chapters of American Music: The New Orleans school. From 1840 to 1879, New Orleans was home to a circle of musicians, including Louis Moreau Gottschalk, Edmond Dd and the Lambert dynasty. Naxos offers this new CD as a testament to this important family of African-American musicians.
