Album Summary
Conductor Ensemble ComposerNotes & Reviews:
Robert Fuchs's contemporaries included Wagner, Liszt, Brahms and Bruckner; he lived during a time that is often refered to as "Late Romanticism". Fuchs's students included Hugo Wolf, Gustav Mahler, Franz Schmidt, Jean Sibelius, Alexander von Zemlinsky and Franz Schreker. Fuchs worked during a time of great diversity and change, yet the String Serenades premiered on this disc are all elegance and grace. Performances and recorded sound are very fine.
