Notes & Reviews:

The Sibelius Violin Concerto, written in 1903, is one of the most important and most often performed concertos in the violin repertoire. This new recording on the Hanssler label is excellent on all counts. Virtuoso Sitkovetsky and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields Orchestra under Neville Marriner turn in staggering performances, and Hanssler's recorded sound is perfect.
