Notes & Reviews:

Chausson composed a relatively small amount of music. He is nevertheless one of the great composers of the late 19th century, and an important predecessor to Ravel, Debussy and other great French composers of the early 20th century. Dutoit and the Montreal Symphony render glorious performances. The Symphony in B flat is an especially magnificent work that will be a wonderful discovery for those who don't already know it, and an especially marvellous performance for those who do.
