The last three volumes of Hyperion's Schubert Edition (there are two more to come after this one) are devoted to songs written in the last years of the composer's life. They contain some of his greatest, though not necessarily best-known lieder. The baritone on this recording, Stephan Loges, won the Wigmore Hall International Song Competition a few months ago.
