Notes & Reviews:

Decca celebrates violinist Ida Haendel's 75th birthday with a rare new recording of works from 20th century European masters, accompanied by pianist Vladimir Ashkenazy. Haendel stepped into the recording studio very rarely, but these discs highlight the artistry and sensitivity she displayed throughout her distinguished career. In fact, this set includes a free second disc of performances that were recorded between 1940 and 1947, all newly remastered.
