Notes & Reviews:

This may well be Andreas Scholl's finest album to date. Track four of the disc, "Cum dederit delectis suis somnum" from Nisi Dominus may well be worth the price of the CD alone. Marked "Largo", Scholl's ethereal voice rises with long, immaculate tones above a slow, pulsing ostinato of low strings. High muted strings are added to the mixture producing a sound of chaste resplendence that is surely without parallel. This is only one five minute track - the entire album is glorious!
