Notes & Reviews:

This, the second volume entitled "Romantic Symphonic Music by Flemish Composers" brings together the most prominent composers of this School. Benoit's idiomatic work "In de Velden" for oboe and string orchestra is included. Mortelmans music, featured here, received their first performances in the composer's Nieuwe Concerten (New Concert) series. Jef van Hoof was a pupil of Mortelmans, and spiritual heir of Benoit.
