Notes & Reviews:

Camille Saint-Saens' zoological fantasy "Carnival of the Animals" was written in 1886 to celebrate that year's carnival in Paris. This ebullient fantasy piece paints a zoo full of creatures from elephants to lions and cuckoos to kangaroos with just about everything in between. This disc also includes two other favorites for young people including Ravel's musical fairytale "Mother Goose" and Dukas' "The Sorcerer's Apprentice."
