Notes & Reviews:
The music of Armenian composer Boris Parsadanian may never gain a wide audience, but he certainly should gather a loyal one based upon, and aided by, the unique and excellent works on this CD. A broad range of music is presented here. Both the String Quartet and the Violin Sonata are lyrical and dissonant scores. In the massively orchestrated one movement Symphony No. 7, the choir frames an orchestral "Lamento", which is a reworking of music by Khachaturian. What a great composer!
