Notes & Reviews:

Alexander Glazunov was the leading Russian Romantic composer after the time of Tchaikovsky. In his post as director of the St. Petersburg Conservatory in the early 20th century, Glazunov instructed and influenced the young talents Prokofiev and Shostakovich. Glazunov is best known for his lush orchestral music full of rich, satisfying melodies; the best of which are included in this offering.
