Notes & Reviews:

Mozart's catalogue of sacred music is extensive, and includes a series of Masses, the earliest written at the age of twelve. In the early 1780s Mozart embarked on his most ambitious project in this genre, the "C minor Mass." Unlike most of his music at that time, it was not composed to a commission, but simply to fullfill a desire to write a large scale sacred work.
