Notes & Reviews:

The "Four Sacred Pieces" belong to Giuseppe Verdi's final works. It was only in his final creative period that the agnostic Verdi devoted himself to the "higher" genre of sacred music. "Pezzi Sacri" was published in 1898, five years after his last opera, Falstaff, in the 85th year of his long and fruitful life.
