Giordano: Fedora / Basile, Tebaldi, di Stefano, Sereni

Album Summary

>Giordano, Umberto : Fedora
Performers Conductor Ensemble Composer

Notes & Reviews:

Second only to Andera Chenier in popularity among Giordano's operas, Fedora was premiered in 1898 with Caruso as the tenor lead. It was a great success: A pun at the time joked that "Fedora fe d'oro" ("Fedora made money"). Seldom heard abroad today, it is still a singers' favorite in Italian opera houses. This classic live performance dates from 1961 in Naples.
