While this is most certainly the premiere recording of Vincenzo Fiocchi's cantatas on CD, it may also be the first appearance of any of this composer's music on CD. This cantata for two voices, strings and harpsichord is well performed by the instrumental ensemble La Magnifica Comunita, and by the two vocal soloists. While certainly not a newly discovered masterpiece, "Piramo e Tisbe" deserves a listen from collectors who like to explore little-known 19th century vocal music.
