Notes & Reviews:
Aside from this series that is shaping up on the Danacord label, there is only one other effort to present the symphonic works of Louis Glass on CD; that is from Marco Polo. In listening to the Fourth Symphony, you can feel the influence of Bruckner, Franck and Tchaikovsky, but the style is nevertheless extremely personal. The symphony takes some time to get going, but the symphonic development which follows is convincing and captivating. This is a revelatory release.
