Bastiaan Blomhert makes his debut on Chandos with some rarely recorded works for wind ensemble by Franz Krommer. There is only one other recording of the complete Partitas, Op. 45 in the catalog. This is the only currently available version of the complete Six Marches, Op. 31. Blomhert conducts the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields Wind Ensemble, who is also making its debut on Chandos. These enjoyable works from Beethoven's time are a treat to hear in such spirited performances.
