Notes & Reviews:

Full of fun and humor, this live recording from Carnegie Hall on December 8, 1991 conveys a real sense of "the event". The moods are diverse, with joyous, sparkle succeeded by quiet contemplation. There are many quotations from the classical repertoire (including Der Rosenkavalier) which draw the laughter of recognition from the Carnegie Hall audience.

Notes & Reviews:

Recording information: Carnegie Hall, New York, NY (12/08/1991).

A Carnegie Hall Christmas is a great collection of classical interpretations of traditional carols. There are a couple of contemporary tunes, such as "The Christmas Song" and "Winter Wonderland, " which are given rich orchestral treatments, but most of the album consists of lush, luxurious arrangements of songs like "Twelve Days of Christmas," "Silent Night," and "Joy to the World," all of which make for ideal holiday listening, no matter what the occasion is. ~ Rodney Batdorf
