Album Summary
Conductor Ensemble ComposerNotes & Reviews:
From the French High Baroque, Delalande's "Te Deum" is a glorious work that employs a style of "tone-painting" (where the musical expression is closely tied to the message of the text) that we are familiar with in much of the music of Lully. Indeed, Delalande was the successor to Lully in the courts of Louis XIV and Louis XV. This recording has appeared in the catalog under three previous selection numbers, and remains the only available version. It is a classic! Highly recommended.
