Notes & Reviews:

Perhaps Gottfried Heinrich Stolzel was cpo's most important discovery over the past few years. Anyone who listens to even a few bars of his music senses Stolzel's relevance, originality, and his highly individual style. He has his very own place on a par with Bach, Handel and Telemann. CPO's release of his "Brockes Passion" makes this immediately clear. Now come Cantatas 6 to 10 composed in 1736-37 for use on the Sunday after Christmas, on New Year's Eve and on Epiphany.
