Notes & Reviews:

Krommer composed symphonies, masses, string quartets, quintets and, most significantly, music for wind band. This continued the Central European tradition of writing music that was frequently intended to be played out of doors. Like many musicians from the Czech heartlands, Krommer had a complete understanding of the various families of wind instruments. His compositions for wind band are tuneful, elegant and above all to be enjoyed.
