This is a stunning set -- beautifully transferred, and the performances are Jochum at his best

Fanfare
This Music & Arts set is perhaps the single best introduction to Abendroth, because of the consistent high level of its performances and Maggie Payne's excellent transfer work. Mark Kluge's informative and insightful notes are a nice extra bonus. This set is essential to those interested in the Central European conducting tradition as it was practiced in the middle of the 20th century.
