Album Summary
Conductor Ensemble ComposerNotes & Reviews:
Anton Rubinstein's powerful Third Symphony stands between two of his named symphonies, the Second, subtitled the "Ocean", and the Fourth, called the "Dramatic". It is composed in an orchestral style that tendsto look back to Mendelssohn. In addition, it possesses the passionate and noble character that Rubinstein often gave to his orchestral works. The 'Eroica Fantasia,' a work written some time after the Symphony, is equally distinguished and strongly felt.
