Classical Heat collects two discs' worth of fire-related and/or energetic classical music. The first disc, cryptically titled "By the Electric Fire," includes Khachaturian's Sabre Dance, Mars, the Bringer of War from Holst's Planets, and Ride of the Valkyries from Wagner's Die Walküre. Disc two, "By the Log Fire," features less intense, more romantic pieces such as Barber's Adagio for Strings, the Aria from Lyon's Short Suite, and Rachmaninov's Vocalise. Though Classical Heat's concept isn't necessarily the clearest, the quality of the collection's music still makes it worthwhile for casual fans of classical music. ~ Heather Phares
