Notes & Reviews:

"This recording begins with Gustav Mahler's only extant piece of chamber music, the 12-minute Piano Quartet that he wrote in 1876 while he was student at the Vienna Conservatory. It is a very interesting complement to the Schoenberg, particularly because of the future relationship between Schoenberg and Mahler. Listening to their student works next to one another is quite an experience. The playing is wonderful." - Fine, ARG
