Notes & Reviews:

The key performance here is the live Edingurgh Festival performance of Brahms' Symphony No. 2 from August 20th, 1956, where the audience literally goes wild before the final coda. This is the Beecham electricity at its most potent and exciting. As usual with Beecham, he always responds to the live occasion more than in the studio.
