Notes & Reviews:
Rodrigo's concerto for two guitars and orchestra, the 'Concierto Madrigal', is a suite of movements bound by themes from the Renaissance madrigal, 'O felici occhi miei', which exists in a variety of instrumental arrangements. Rodrigo took as his inspiration the poetic atmosphere of each episode, some of which are more archaic in character, others more closely related to folk-music.
