Notes & Reviews:
This cycle of seven-part sacred madrigals is one of the most remarkable artistic testaments in the whole of music history. Carefully and deliberately reduced in means and expressive character, this work achieves an intensity that can only be described as ascetic intimacy of feeling in its depiction of St. Peter's remorse after his repeated denial of Jesus.
